SpyFu is a competitive-intelligence tool for SEO and PPC that surfaces the keywords, ad copy, and advertisers active in search, with an API for pulling that data programmatically.
Alec reached for SpyFu on Episode 004 when he needed a list of businesses already spending on ads. ChatGPT pointed him to the SpyFu API, he handed the key and docs to Codex, and Codex pulled the whole prospect list in about ten minutes. The point: a data source plus a coding agent replaced days of manual VA research.
Genuine substitutes for SpyFu that we've also run on stage:
Paid; subscription with API access (a paid account was required on the live).
Alec Saluga used it in Episode 004 to pulling a list of current advertisers by keyword via its API, fed to Codex.
Tools we've also used live that can stand in for SpyFu: Apify, Apollo.io.
