Promptwatch is a generative engine optimization (GEO) platform. It monitors how a brand appears in AI-generated answers across ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity, and others, reporting citation share, share of voice, and sentiment, including which specific Reddit threads and sources the AI engines are citing.
Its public data page documented the August 14, 2026 collapse of Reddit citations in ChatGPT Search: from a steady 3.8% share down to roughly 0.5%, an 86% drop in a day.
Justin Novak put a Promptwatch chart on screen in Session 009's office hours: Reddit citations in ChatGPT falling off a cliff on August 14 after being the number one cited source. It was the evidence behind the night's marketing rule, never over-index on a single third-party platform, because an entire 'get cited on Reddit' playbook evaporated in one day.
To be clear about our own usage: Justin has not used Promptwatch, he used its published data.
