The show and tell.
Show & Tell · Alec
Codex. A week of work, done in ten minutes.
What it is
OpenAI's coding agent.
Think of it as their version of Claude Code. Lightning fast, writes and runs real code, and it comes with the $20 OpenAI plan.
The use case
Built a prospect list.
I needed advertisers to target. ChatGPT pointed me to the SpyFu API, I handed Codex the key and the docs, and it pulled the whole list in about ten minutes.
The mindset
What you'd hand a VA.
Anything you would offload to an assistant is a candidate for AI first. The real cost you save is not the hourly rate, it's lost momentum.
No developer background required. If something confuses you, ask Codex what to do.
Show & Tell
Hermes. An employee that lives on your computer.
It remembers
Knows how you work.
Your projects, your style, the way you like things done. Most AI forgets you the second you close the tab. Hermes doesn't.
It learns
Turns work into skills.
When it figures out a hard task, it saves it as a skill. Next time it just does it. No re-explaining, no starting over.
It's connected
Slack, email, WhatsApp.
Hand it work from your phone while you grab coffee. It runs on your machine and gets better the more you use it.
I'm starting from a totally fresh install. Nothing set up. No smoke and mirrors.
Hermes · live demo
Watch it actually work.
Build a full webinar cohort analysis from our real data.
Spin up a daily briefing, on a schedule.
Explain a cron job in plain English.
The part nobody's talking about
You can run it free, on your own machine.
GLM 5.2 by Z.ai is a breakthrough. A local model you can host on your own computer and use for free.
Swap the model inside Hermes · no subscription required
Hermes lets you pick the model under the hood. Run a free local model like GLM 5.2, or plug in a frontier one. Your call.
Field guide · Hermes models
Which brain for which job.
Pick the model by the work, not by the logo.
Cheapest per token is not the cheapest job. A weak model that loops, fails, and retries can cost more than a solid one that nails it the first time. Match the model to the task.
01
Everyday agent work & long multi-step tasks
GLM 5.2
$1.40 in / $4.40 out
Built for long-horizon agent work and tool use, at a fraction of frontier price. Your default workhorse.
02
Tasks where the agent has to see
Kimi K2.7 Code
$0.74 in / $3.50 out
Accepts image input for browser vision and screenshots, and stays cheap. GLM 5.2 is text only.
03
High-volume, low-stakes, or testing
Free tier
Nemotron 3 Ultra · Step 3.7 Flash
$0 per token
Great for tinkering and background tasks. Rate limited and can change without notice, so never bet a live demo on them.
04
Quality-critical or client-facing output
Opus 4.8
$10 in / $50 out
Top quality for the moments that matter. Reach for it deliberately, not as your daily engine.
05
Building internal tools & writing code
GLM 5.2 or Kimi K2.7 Code
both tuned for coding
Both built for code generation and agentic software work, at a small fraction of frontier cost. Start here.
Spend less: cache reused context, and start cheap then escalate only when it falls short.Prices per 1M tokens, list rate. Verify live.

Apify. Pull any data off the internet.
What it is
A library of scrapers.
Ready-made scrapers for Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, Facebook, and more. You don't build anything custom, you grab one off the shelf.
How you run it
On its own, or in a workflow.
Run it inside Apify, or hand a scraper to an agent like Hermes or Codex, or drop it into an automation that pulls the data every day.
If the data is on the internet, there's probably an Apify scraper for it.

n8n. Wire your tools together, visually.
What it is
A visual workflow builder.
Connect tools, route data, and drop AI into the middle. You can see every step, which makes it easy to debug when something breaks.
A real build
Live creator stats.
Every Sunday it scrapes YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok follower counts for a client's creators and pushes them to their site. Agencies spent months. This took about three hours.
Why not Zapier
Open source, flat cost.
Zapier and Make.com do the same thing but bill per execution. n8n is open source, self-host it for a few dollars a month with unlimited runs.
The best place to start. Once you've got the feel, graduate to Claude Code.
Show & Tell
MidJourney.
It went viral today: an image model so good it's now replacing MRI machines. Around 1,000x cheaper, turning into health and wellness spas.
From image generation to medical imaging
MidJourney · live demo
Steal any look in two minutes.
The trick
Let AI write the prompt.
Drop an image into ChatGPT or Claude and ask, "give me a MidJourney prompt to recreate this." Paste it in. Done. Recreate inspiration instead of starting from a blank page.
The use case
Start a t-shirt company.
Look at growing trends, find cool images, generate the designs. A whole creative process collapsed into minutes.

PLAUD Note. Record every conversation, not just Zoom.
What it is
A pocket recorder.
A small hardware device that sticks to the back of your phone, like a wallet, and records what's happening around you.
Why it matters
Beyond the Zoom call.
Zoom is one medium. This captures phone calls and in-person conversations too, so you stay present instead of scribbling notes.
The integration
Straight into your tools.
A Zapier automation drops every recording into Google Drive, and my Claude reads my Drive, so any conversation is there when I need it.
Some sauce: it's about $150 new. I found mine on eBay for sixty or seventy.
Show & Tell
Claude. Design to deployed, start to finish.
Two real sites I built this way. I'll show you the result first, then the exact process.
Built with Claude
slowhandremodeling.com
A full client website, designed and shipped.
Built with Claude
ai4ntp.com
This whole brand, the site you registered on.
The exact workflow
Figma to live site, no dev team.
Figma
Mock up the pages visually. The design.
→
Claude
Pull the Figma design straight into Claude with an MCP connector, a bridge that lets Claude read your Figma file.
→
Claude Code
Claude writes and ships the real, production code.
→
Vercel
Hosts the live website. Free to start.
→
Namecheap
Where I bought the domain name.
MCP connector, in plain English: a standard plug that lets Claude talk to another app. Here, it reads your Figma designs directly.
Show & Tell · Alec · Honorable mention
Higgsfield. Every image and video model, one place.
What it is
One prompt, five models.
An aggregator of image and video models (NanoBanana, Seed Dance, and more). Run a prompt through several at once and keep the best output.
What you get
A marketing studio.
Generate UGC-style video and creative in-house. A full UGC video runs about 1/100 of your credits, work that used to cost $300 a clip.
Worth the honorable mention. It's about $150 a month, with cheaper tiers to start.
Show & Tell
My agentic CRM.
$99/mo
For something that's honestly worth thousands. I use it every single day.
